Longnose and Shortnose Gar

Gar are plentiful in Lake of the Ozarks and they can get pretty big. Longnose Gar up to 24 lbs. and Shortnose Gar up to 11 lbs. have been taken in recent years.

Common Carp

Common carp are found across the United States and they have a strong foothold in Lake of the Ozarks as well. They average 4-8 lbs., with some larger ones taken every year.

Smallmouth and Black Buffalo

Smallmouth and Black Buffalo are very common in Lake of the Ozarks and usually make up most of the shot opportunities. They range from 8-30 lbs.

Grass Carp (White Amur)

Very large and extremely territorial, Grass Carp present a unique challenge when encountered. They show up when least expected and can really make a trip if we get an arrow into one. Fish up to 50 lbs. have been taken.
